Chefs — getting started

How do I become a chef on ChefMarket?

Sign up at /Signup → KYC + Stripe Connect onboarding (~10 minutes) → upload first dish (photos + description + price + lead time + shipping zones) → marketplace listing live. Hobby tier is free; Pro at $49/mo unlocks branded storefront and lower take rate.

What can I sell?

Anything you can ship that meets your local food-safety regulations. Common categories: artisan baked goods, sauces + condiments, specialty pasta, dessert kits, regional dishes, vegan + dietary-restricted items, sauces, spice blends. Hot prepared meals require local-delivery zones (Pro tier).

What about cottage food laws?

Most US states have cottage-food laws that allow home-kitchen production of low-risk foods (baked goods, jams, candies, etc.) without commercial-kitchen licensing. Check ChefMarket's per-state guide in Settings → Compliance. Some states require a separate "home processor" license.

Shipping + fulfillment

How does shipping work?

Default: customer pays shipping at checkout, calculated from chef's location + delivery address + service speed (standard / 2-day / overnight). USPS, UPS, FedEx supported. Pro tier supports custom shipping zones (e.g. "ship to East Coast only" or "free local delivery within 25 miles").

What about cold-chain / refrigerated shipping?

Pro tier integrates with cold-chain partners in major metros. Higher cost passed to customer, but expanded geographic reach. Standard chefs ship at room temperature only.

Lead time for fulfillment?

Configurable per dish. "Same-day if ordered by 10am" works for local fresh items; "2-5 business days" works for shipped items. Set lead times accurately — customer-experience metrics rely on hitting them.

Influencer tier

How do I qualify for Influencer?

Apply with: social handles (Instagram / TikTok / YouTube), recent posts/shorts, cuisine specialty, follower count. Editorial team reviews quality + engagement + originality. ~5 business day turnaround. Verified-creator badge surfaces in marketplace + Shorts feed.

What's revenue share on Shorts?

Influencer-tier creators earn revenue share when their shorts drive marketplace purchases. Specifically: when a customer buys after watching one of your shorts within a 7-day attribution window, you earn an extra 10% of the purchase value (paid via Stripe Connect, monthly).

Shorts feed

What's the ChefMarket Shorts feed?

Vertical scroll feed of 15-second + 30-second cooking + plating + behind-the-dish videos. Viewers swipe through, and any short has a "Buy this dish from this chef" button that opens the chef's product page. Influencer tier required for inclusion.

How do I upload shorts?

Pro+ tier. /ChefMarket/Shorts/Upload (coming with Phase 1 of the Shorts launch). 15s or 30s, MP4/MOV, max 60MB. Auto-thumbnail or upload your own. Tag the dish (auto-links the buy button).

Customer questions

Can I leave a review?

After delivery confirmed, you'll get a 1-tap review prompt via email + SMS. Star rating + optional comment. Reviews surface on chef profiles and influence Shorts ranking.

What if my order is bad?

Contact support@cloudfran.com with the order id within 7 days of delivery. Chef + customer service work to resolve. Refunds processed via Stripe.
